Powiatowy Zespół Szkół nr 2 im. Karola Miarki ( PZS no. 2) is a secondary school in Pszczyna, a small town located in the southern Poland, 40 km from the city of Katowice and 80 km from the airports of Cracow and Katowice. At present the school provides education to 1247 students.

PZS no.2 comprises three types of secondary schools:

? secondary technical school offering the following vocational programmes: electricity, IT, mechatronics and mining equipment, renewable energy systems, landscape engineering, nutrition and food catering, agriculture, agro-industry, tourism, hotel industry, land surveing, construction, advertising, economics, trade and logistics;

? grammar school which includes classes of uniformed services such as the police class, the firefighters class and the prison services class as well as the class of social pedagogy;

? vocational school.

There are 146 teachers employed at the moment and many of them are qualified to teach two or more subjects.The teaching staff in PZS no.2 has an open-minded attitude, is very active and constantly involved in different projects.

The school constantly modifies its educational offer trying to adapt to students' needs. We put a great emphasis on the practical training and prepare the graduates for active participation in the ever-changing job market.

We make every effort to teach our students not only knowledge and practical skills, but also creativity and independence trying in this way to prepare them for further education and ensure their comprehensive development.

The school building has been recently renovated and has a lot of educational and sports facilities such as the gym, the swimming pool and a range of playing fields. Apart from that, there is a number of professional labs e.g. the food lab, the IT lab, the renewable energy lab or the mechatronics lab. The classrooms are spacious and most of them are equipped with modern audio-visual devices.

PZS no.2 is the only boarding school in the District of Pszczyna and is able to host up to 50 guests offering them 24-hour service. In 2013 the boarding house was thoroughly renovated and in 2014 there was a lift fitted to adapt the building to disabled people's needs. The boarding house also functions as accommodation for the groups of foreign students from partner schools from Germany, Portugal, Norway, Spain or the Czech Republic which cooperate with PZS no.2 within the Erasmus projects or other types of student exchanges.

Our school puts a great emphasis on international cooperation, for many years we have carried out numerous Erasmus+ projects, both as a sending and a receiving institution, and as a result in the year 2021 we were granted the 7-year accreditation for the KA1 Erasmus+ projects. We have also been beneficiaries of the PO WER Programme as well as the The Education Programme implemented under the agreements signed between Poland and the Donor States ? Iceland, the Principality of Liechtenstein and the Kingdom of Norway.

We also cooperate with schools from abroad in a more informal way, organizing youth exchanges or cooking competitions.
